I'm a presenter with the Alberta Science Network's [Scientists & Engineers-in-the-Classroom] program. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to go a workshop put on by the ASN to help make our presentations better.
There were seven of us there along with the facilitators. It was wonderful to be with people who love their jobs and want to inspire the next generation with the same passion they have for their jobs.
We spent the morning discussing the elements of a successful presentation, how to best prepare, and what to do when it starts to go bad. In the afternoon, we all presented for 5-10 minutes so that we could get feedback from the group and be able to see a little bit of how others approach their presentation.
